My name is Cody Malone and not only am I a Professional Angler year round, I also guide on the ever famous Bass Capital of Texas, Lake Fork.

If you are looking not only for a day packed with big bass, but also a learning experience, you have come to the right site.

My dream of being a professional angler started just the way you are starting today on guide trip on Lake Fork. I was fortunate enough to have picked a guide that was also a Professional and the tips and advice he gave me started my dream as a Professional Angler. That is what my goal is as a guide, not only to give you a fun filled, big bass packed day but to give each client some things to take home. To improve your fishing experience on every lake you fish from this point on.

I know that you see Professionals on TV and think, how do they do that? I, too, would ask the same thing; and after turning Pro I can answer those questions for you. I feel the future of this great sport stems on sharing the knowledge that we have by showing people the techniques used by the professionals. I have a passion for fishing, always have and always will. I want to share that with you.

I want everyone to walk away with that feeling of accomplishment and knowledge that they too can share with others.

Fishing is a sport unlike any other.

If you are looking to learn and enhance your fishing experience, then please feel free to contact me.

Latest Lake Fork Report - as of 1/15/2010

It's been a great few months here on Fork with lots of big fish being caught including one that topped the scales at Lake Fork Marina at over 15lbs. This time of year the larger fish are heading to the shallow and mid range grass beds to spend their winter under the canopies of hydrilla, where the bait and cover is abundent. I target these fish by trying a few baits starting with a rattle trap. When fishing the trap I like to use a 1/2 oz bait in some red/orange color scheme. Your goal is to just tick the tops/clumps of the vegetation, when it hangs up just rip it free and let it flutter back down and this is when most of your bites will happen. I also like throwing a wacky wormed Zoom finesse worm in watermelon red with a small nail in the head to help it fall just a bit, also a little dip in chartruse spike-it. I hope these patterns help you go out and catch the fish of your dreams.

My spring guide trips are booking fast so if you are interested in experiencing a true fishing adventure, or if you need anything on your next journey on Lake Fork feel free to contact me. I hope everyone has a safe and blessed Christmas and New Year!

Until next time, God Bless & Tight Lines
